VOS is an International rebuild service focused on SU, Weber and Zenith 40 TIN carburetors for your favorite foreign sports cars.

Carburetors to be rebuilt are assumed to be from a ‘running engine’ and are ‘complete’ with all required components. Carburetors with damage, seized components and missing parts will require additional evaluation and additional costs to bring the carburetor back to designed function.

This is from a “ran when parked” Porsche 914 original 6 project - This will be fun!

Careful review of your carburetor is done while being disassembled to establish the best rebuild path possible with reconditioning of the original components or replacing with new components. The aim is to restore the proper function of each component for the best air/fuel management your carburetor can offer.

In parallel with the function of your carburetor every effort is made to maintain its original factory appearance. An eye to precision fit and finish is a normal activity towards improved appearance.

The second carb to the Project 914-6 arrived in the same condition as in the first photo shown above - this carb is well underway, but still needing parts. Velocity Stacks are being developed in partnership with floyddesign.com - a modern 3D printed update that adds visual appeal (Velocity Stacks left to right -1. being developed, 2. original cleaned up, 3. original left “dirty”- I prefer the 3D print

Your equipment will be processed through a careful process of cleaning using a combination of cleaning steps below:

  • Initial soaking degrease dip-tank

  • dry soda blast to ensure additional abrasive damage is not introduced

  • ultrasonic heated parts wash

  • vapor blast to further improve final appearance

  • warm water flush to dissolve and remove all blast media

  • low pressure air blast clearing of all passages

  • final component inspections

All rebuild parts are bench checked for proper fit and function. Completed carburetors will be set to recommended initial factory settings. Customer will be responsible for final adjustments of vehicle mounted carburetor.
